From the Pastor…A Rescue Mission

Exodus 3:7-10 (NIV)
7 The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. 8 So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. 9 And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

Thousands of years ago, God heard the cries of His people, the Jews, who were in slavery to the Egyptians, and resolved to come and rescue them. To do so, God sent Moses to bring the Israelites out of Egypt and into the land He had promised Abraham centuries before.

Today, God is hearing the cries of your friends, family members, and neighbors who are still in slavery to sin, and in His Son, Jesus, He has already come to rescue them. In the same way He sent Moses, He is sending you to them, to lead them to their rescue in Jesus, who will bring them out of their slavery and into eternal life.

Romans 10:13-15 (NIV)
13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
