What Does the Holy Spirit Do?

John 3:3-8

Welcome to the family!

The Holy Spirit brings confirmation that we are sons and daughters of God

Romans 8:14-17

Prince Charles:
His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall, Knight of the Garter, Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Regiment of Wales, Duke of Rothsay, Knight of the Thistle, Rear Admiral of the Royal Navy, Great Master of the Order of Bath, Earl of Chester, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles, Great Steward of Scotland

His kids call him: Dad

God the Father:
God of the Mountains, Almighty God, The Most High God, Exalted One, Maker of Heaven and Earth, God of Eternity, God the Everlasting One, God of the Covenant, God Who Sees Me, God of Vision, Father of Mercies, Father of Lights, Father of Glory, Ancient of Days, Yahweh

His kids call him: Dad

The Holy Spirit helps us to develop our relationship with God

Ephesians 2:18 “For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.”

Romans 8:26 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”

Ephesians 1:17 “I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”

The Holy Spirit brings about the family likeness in us

2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

The Holy Spirit brings about unity in the family

Ephesians 4:3-6

The Holy Spirit gives gifts to everyone in the family

1 Corinthians 12:4-11

The Holy Spirit brings about a growing family

Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
